the nap that almost broke my streak
Almost broke my daily blog post streak tonight.
Unintentionally, of course.
Monday's are supposed to be where the fun side comes out to play, but today I count myself lucky I didn't miss the deadline for my daily blog goal.
After spending the afternoon walking around the lake, I experienced mild heat exhaustion. Combined with my husband feeling unwell (which I seem to have caught a bit of), I arrived home this evening feeling completely drained and disoriented.
My body's signals for rest became impossible to ignore, so I surrendered to napping instead of pushing through. While I usually try to maximize every moment of quality time with my husband and our two cats on our day off, today the need for sleep was overwhelming. I had to listen when my body demanded rest.
But since I woke up before midnight, I thought to get back up, write a few words, and then to go back to resting for the night.
Would I still be committed to posting daily had I slept through my deadline today? Thankfully that didn't happen, but what if? While I haven't set a specific end goal for my daily blogging challenge, I'd like to reach at least 100 posts. That said, if my body truly needed to sleep through the night, I would accept that necessity too.
When given the option to prioritize my health or my blog, of course my health comes first. But it does feel quite rewarding to know that despite feeling physically beat, I still got up, reached for the words, and the words came.
To infinity and beyond?
